To mark the 25th anniversary of his debut, actor and film director Takumi Saito has directed a short documentary film that follows the process of "manufacturing" over a period of six months.

The story of a maison with over 50 years of history that is unique even in Japan, the moment when a design is born from the selection of fabric, the process of a collection being completed after fittings, the work of technicians, backstage and on stage on the day of the show, and what lies ahead... Through a long interview with Director Saito, what does creation mean to Ashida, and the conflicts she faces as "Ashida Jun's daughter" are all brought to light...

Please enjoy the world depicted by director Takumi Saito's sensibility and aesthetic sense.

It started as a coincidence that I was chosen to document TAE ASHIDA's 25th anniversary, but it seems like it's inevitable. I believe that the process by which Tae-san continues to protect her own in-house production maison and work closely with sewing technicians and other craftsmen will be a work that should be preserved, especially in this day and age when fast fashion is in full swing.
