The Survival of Elegance
-Jun Ashida's history and future
One of the essences of fashion -
In December 2014, an exhibition was held on the third floor of the National Art Center, Tokyo to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the fashion house. Ashida Jun's creations over the last half century were presented in seven zones, three-dimensionally and with the help of video, along with the transition of Japanese high fashion and the historical background of the times. The exhibition also featured over 50 archive pieces, video messages from famous people who were close friends of Ashida, and collaborative works with Christian Lacroix and dancer TAKAHIRO, using the original circular stole "Compass" as a motif.
